Mission
Statement |

|

 |
Many
young dancers today continue to study avidly and develop skills
well into their teens and young twenties. These dancers
reach a high level of skill and ability just as their opportunities
to perform diminish, unless they choose a ballet career and join
a company. Because performing is an integral part of the
ballet experience, New England Civic
Ballet (NECB) seeks to fill
this void. NECB provides children and young adults from
throughout the region a chance to perform in professional ballet
productions based solely on their talent and level of achievement,
regardless of their town or studio affiliation. All roles
for all productions are cast from audition or by invitation. The
high caliber of the director's backgrounds ensures professional
productions as well as a superior learning experience for the
dancers. NECB enhances and expands the greater Merrimack
Valley's cultural scene while supporting and rewarding our
young people's talents and accomplishments.

Company
History |
|
|
| |
The
New England Civic Ballet (NECB) was formed in the Fall of 1996
to bring professional ballet to the Merrimack Valley. The
company provides opportunities for gifted, local dancers to perform
major and supporting roles in professional ballet productions without
committing themselves to a company or a particular school. A
community arts endeavor, NECB retains no continuous company, but
casts all roles through open autition and invitation. Now in its 13th season , NECB has mounted annual productions of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Also included in its repertoire, NECB has performed: The Sleeping
Beauty, Cinderella, and an original Celtic Ballet titled The Enchanted Glen. Watch for more information as NECB continues this season with a March, 2009 production.
